    'iso-8859-1' not supported

When I attempt to publish to my host's server (ixwebhosting.com) using EW, I get the following message in a message window:

    ----- message -----

The character set 'iso-8859-1' for the source Web site 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\enfolded.v3' is not supported on the destination Web server 'http://71.18.234.150'. No files were published.

To change the character set for the current open Website, choose Site Settings on the Site menu.

    ----- eom -----

In Site Settings, US/Western European (ISO) is set as the default and the checkbox is checked.

FWIW,note that I am publishing the website from Inetpub because I have an .asp file on this website.

BTW, I can publish the same website without a problem using FP 2003.

Who else has had this problem and what was the solution (IX support says 'there is no problem. All their servers support that character set).'

Here's some info supplied by IXhosting.com:

According to MS support site, it is validated problem, but no workarounds available yet -

No one else having this problem?

I've had it on one site but I can't remember which one it is (hazards of managing 70 websites) so I left it at utf-8 since it was a Windows server and I have not had time to play around with the web.config fle to try and change it there.

Same problem here, by the way, our webserver is running IIS 6.0.

Our only workaround is to publish through FrontPage 2003, for some bizarre reason that goes well (including the ISO-8859-1 encoding).

    Re: 'iso-8859-1' not supported

When I have seen this happen (it does on two of my servers) it is because the server has the encoding set in the host headers. FrontPage doesn't check them and when you try to over ride with a character set different than what the server is sending it can cause issues in some browsers and other user agents.

You might want to get one of the tools like Firebug that let you see the headers being sent by your server. If they specify the encoding you should use the same encoding as what the server is sending.
