    ajax control toolkit

    Hello Everyone,

I've become quite used to Visual Studio for designing my web pages (because I am a coder first, designer second).  I really the like the ajax control toolkit which has somewhat helped me hide my limited knowledge of javascript.  I'm starting to really get into Expression web, but I seem to have endless problems trying to use controls from the Ajax control toolkit.  Does anyone know of a sample or tutorial that will help me figure out what I am doing wrong here?  Thanks in advance.

The only Expression Web and Ajax I've see were in presentation by Wayne Smith at Expression Session or in Andrew Jewsberry's blog http://blogs.msdn.com/andrewj/archive/2006/12/13/custom-asp-net-controls-and-expression-web.aspx. Right now the only way to use the Ajax toolkit in Expression Web is to use the msi installer then manually register the controls on the page in the @page since there is no option to add to the task panes. I can't remember if the Ajax control properties show up in the Properties pane or not.

Once the controls are registered you can use them in Expression Web in code view. In the first version of Expression Web you will find life easier if you add your controls in Visual Studio then work with  them in Expression Web.

Any idea when we will see the AJAX control toolkit able to be at least viewed in Design View?

Also, I have had the AJAX controls registered in VS2005 for almost a year.  I just downloaded EW Trial.  I can find none of my AJAX controls in the EW toolbox nor any way to add them.  Am I missing something?

You need Expression Web v2, it is currently available as a public beta. http://micrososoft.com/expressions
