    photo galleries

I have created 2 web sites that are entirely photo galleries. Now MS is discontinuing the galleries. I want to be able to add to the galleries and change them. Is MS going to come up with a product that will allow that? Right now I do not see any reason why I should install Expression. I don't want to ruin the Web Sites I have created with Front Page. Any suggestions???

    Re: photo galleries

I never used Frontpage before so I'm not familiar with the gallery features in it, but I am disappointed that Expression Web doesn't have a gallery option built in, All I could recommend is have a look at this thread http://forum.by-expression.com/forums/thread/623.aspx

Some of these are very simple to use and perhaps it would be easy to update your galleries using these, or of course you could continue using Frontpage to do it.

By the way what site is your gallery on?

    Hi Joy

I had a look at your sites, they look good, you've obviously put a lot of work into them, you have a lot of photos, so I can see why you would'nt want to have to update them.

I especially Iike the Lakes of Killarney Postcard from Ireland, I had my honeymoon just near there. Ireland is beautiful.

If I use one of the sites you listed to create a photo gallery, how do I get it into the web site? Do I cut and paste the code and import the pictures. In most of the programs that create photo galleries in the gallery is by itself and not part of a program. If it is posted to the web, it is on a photo site. How do I add it to my sites.

It may depend on which one you used. Normally you would import the entire folder created including all image folders. That would keep your links working correctly.

Night now I'm only teaching classes online. We have a new one scheduled to stab Sunday.

Classes are six weeks with assignments and lectures posted on Sunday. They are due the following Sunday. Questions maybe asked anytime in the classroom forums. they are usually answered the some day. Pat is one of my two teaches assistants. So between us it usually doesn't the long to get an answer.

    First of all, Hello.

I am brand new to your forum.

I tried the smooth gallery for a site that I have not published yet. I downloaded smooth gallery and pasted the code in just as it instructed but I just can not figure out how to make it work. I imported the layout.css and the jd.gallery.css + the scripts. I just can not figure out why it will not work. I am in the process of taking my advanced vb.net class but have not delved into java yet. I may just try another program.

I know this is not a smooth gallery support site, but do you have any pointers. Maybe I did something wrong from the start.

    I really appreciate the help : )

    Download Jalbum here

and the smoothgallery skin page is here

    Hope this helps

Thank you, so much.... I will look into it. I am building sites for commerce. Do you know if this software is opensource or not? If you don't, I will look for a license agreement.

By the way, my family originally, came from Ireland, then to the Isle of Mann, then on to the USA. Their name on the Main land was Luneigh and sometimes O'Looney. (just a little side conversation) :)

    Thanks,

    Samuel Looney
