The 2007 Microsoft Office System does support upgrading from a prerelease version of the 2007 Office System

Trying to install EW which I purchased yesterday and keep receiving the above error when the CD tries to install.  I have nothing installed from the old beta releases and have removed everything I could find per MS help and still can not install.  Anyone know of a location which might have further instructions on prerelease garbage removal from my PC.  I haven't had a beta version of anything on this PC for over 8 months and even have tried reg edits, but evidentlly there is still something left behind that is inhibiting the new install.  Removal tool or other?  Help?

    Thanks...

Two possible issues: one did you install the pdf or xps add-ms for Office 2007 or too to beta bits left something behind in the reply. Patrick Schmidt be on article or his blog on how to fix the second issue. For the first just uninstall the old add-ins and get the newer release versions.

Google can find Patriots sit but I'm not where I have my bookmarks.

Thanks for the suggestions but I had already figured it out with the bulletin at the MS site.  It turned out in my case to be still some left over registry entries that needed to be removed.  I sure would like it if someday the remove feature actually works for those dog-goned betas.  It makes it hard to want to even try them :O)

It is always safest to use a Virtuall PC for betas. Virtual PC is now free and if you don't have a spare license for Windows hanging around there is a time bombed VPC image used for testing IE 6 and IE 7 on the same computer available from Microsoft. They have een releasing a new VPC image every 2-4 months. See my blog if you need links http://blog.by-expression.com and search for virtual pc.
