    FP bot support

Any idea when we might see those add-ins that would let us use fp bots inEW?
Have dispensed with most of them, but would like to be able to better deal with the search form I want to leave on a page originally written with FP.

Which bots do you still want to use?

for the nav bots ...keep an eye on http://forexpression.com There is one addon there (free) to enable you to see the navigation view you still can't add pages to it to make a nav bot menu but you can use it to make a layout of your site.

There are two free include addons (which will won't be going away permeantly)

So what else other bots do you want?

Just the one that allowed a visitor to the site to search for certain items. I've got the bot transferred over, and it functions, but don't have the control over how the results are displayed that I used to. This is for a 30+ page site with herbs, oils, incense and such; a search for patchoul might bring back 10 pages, but the results plaster themselves over the page where the search form is located, rendering them partly illegible. Am moving around the form to cut down the clash, but I seem to remember having more control than that . . .

Well i've not tested this .... I don't use the fp search bot I use frontlook.com php or asp versions (old code but it's very easy to use)

you could try making the search bot in fp ... then opening in ew and seeing if it will work.. then seeing if it will up date.. you might need to open live and recalculate there to get it to update rather than just doing that on your disk based web.. you of course need fpse on the server.

Opened the page in FP but didn't seem to have access to the range of controls I had before.

Of course this could be my failing brain; I put the thing in so long ago I may have just forgotten the magic spell I used first time 'round.

Not having it isn't a dealbreaker, it's just a convenience for visitors.

Looked around at freebies, was underwhelmed, stuck with old one and moved stuff around so the clash of texts stopped being an issue. Sometime when I have time and access to faster connections (probably at the library where I'm a board member) will hit MS FP knowledge base hunting deeper answers.
